The aim of the society, our exclusive heiter membership and group programme, is to help our readers find and celebrate joy beyond the pages. By offering a variety of creative and mindful sessions, we would like to strengthen the feeling of connection and general Heiterkeit (which is German for joy). We are also hoping to reduce overwhelm for the many small business and independent brand owners amongst our readers and give them the opportunity to feel less alone on their business venture. Apart from anti-overwhelm business advice, group consulting sessions and co-working, we additionally support them in promoting their businesses.

HOW COME THERE ARE CONSULTING SESSION INCLUDED IN THE BUSINESS LEVEL/LEVEL 2?

Based on her broad experience from working in the (fashion) e-commerce and publishing industry as well as running heiter, founder & editor-in-chief Katharina has consulted with several independent fashion and lifestyle brands over the years. She uses her knowledge in our hot-seat consulting sessions to support the THS (The Heiter Society) business members. The sessions are in a group-setting and therefore, also a great way to exchange ideas and get in feedback from other members (who are all like-minded business owners with similar experiences).

Q: What is The Heiter Society, heiter’s membership programme?
A: Our membership programme is designed to help our readers find and celebrate joy in everyday life. By offering a variety of creative and mindful sessions, we would like to strengthen the feeling of connection and general Heiterkeit (which is German for joy). We are also hoping to reduce overwhelm for the many small business and independent brand owners amongst our readers and give them the opportunity to feel less alone. Furthermore, we offer opportunities to help them promote their businesses. By becoming a member, you gain access to a wide range of perks, including invitations to special events, and more.


Q: How can I become a member?
A: Joining our membership programme is simple! Just visit our online shop and click on the "Membership" tab. From there, you will see an overview of the different levels as well as payment forms: monthly for Level 1 and monthly or annually for Level 2. Select the level (and payment form) that suits you and your life situation most and pay securely via our shop. Once completed, we will be in touch and give you access to all the features and benefits available to our programme members. If you decide to pay monthly, your first monthly payment will be processed via the online shop. Further (automatic) payments will be securely set up via Stripe for you.


Q: Are there different membership programme tiers?
A: Yes, heiter offers different programme tiers to cater to a variety of preferences. We currently offer a Heiter Moments Membership (Level 1), which provides access to heiter sessions, get-togethers with like-minded members and a private FB community. The Heiter Business Group Programme/Membership (Level 2) unlocks additional perks, such as anti-overwhelm business sessions, hot-seat consulting calls and co-working sessions with other business members. Level 2 members also get access to a “members-only” media kit with discounts to the general heiter advertising fees.

Q: How much does the programme cost?
A: Our fees vary depending on the tier you choose. The Heiter Moments Membershy (Level 1) is available at a monthly subscription fee of €27. For those seeking a more enhanced, business-orientated experience, the Heiter Business Membership/Group Programme (Level 2) is available at a monthly subscription fee of €77 or a discounted, annual fee of €797.


Q: Can I cancel my membership at any time?
A: Absolutely! We understand that circumstances may change, which is why we offer flexibility to our members. You can cancel your monthly programme membership at any time by emailing the society support team. Please note that you will have to inform us at least 5 days prior to your next monthly payment.


Q: Is there a trial period for the membership?
A: We currently do not offer trials but you are welcome to purchase a ticket for our individual workshops (through the heiter online shop) to get a feeling of our lovely community and what it’s like to attend our sessions. There is of course also the opportunity to sign up for a month only and then cancel your membership if you wish.

Q: When do you run the individual sessions?
A: heiter and business sessions as well as hot-seat consulting calls usually take place on Thursday morning/lunch time. Now and then we have guest speakers from outside Europe so there is a chance that some workshops run on a Thursday evening. All get-togethers are held on the third Thursday of the month (7.00pm UK time | 8.00pm CET) and our co-working sessions are on every last Friday of the month (10am UK time | 11am CET).


Q: Where do you run the individual sessions?
A: We use zoom for our all sessions. The workshops are recorded and shared via email with all members afterwards. So, even if you miss a heiter or anti-overwhelm business workshop, you will be able to watch it (in your own time).

Q: Who are the guest speakers?
A: Our guest speakers are external creatives, coaches and entrepreneurs whose values align with the heiter values. We make sure that what they deliver has substance and is in line with what our members need. What is lovely is that many of the guest speakers are also heiter readers and supporters.


Q: How do the hot-seat calls work?
A: Every second month 3-4 Level 2 members get the chance to get live-consulting sessions with founder Katharina who has several years of marketing and online presence consulting experience. Members who need input (or simply a bit of hand-holding prior to a launch or similar), can book their slot two days prior to the session via FB or email. If needed, we also use the sessions to exchange ideas and get feedback from other society members. If a member misses their slot, they will have to wait for two months until they can book a new slot.

Q: Do I need to join the private FB community or the @heitersociety Instagram account ?
A: You don’t - but we highly recommend it! Our FB group is not like others: every member is kind, respectful and supportive and it never gets too loud or overwhelming in there. Sometimes we use the group to celebrate individual members but also share information that you might not get anywhere else. The same goes for our Instagram account however, since it is public, we mainly use it to remind members of their sessions - and tell non-members how they can get tickets to the individual sessions.


Q: How can I stay on top of all sessions?
A: We have a dedicated google calendar that is shared with you at the beginning of your programme membership. All sessions (and the relevant zoom links) will be linked to the calendar on your phone or computer and never have to worry about looking for them. In addition, we frequently email all members with updates and news on upcoming events. There is also a dedicated Instagram account for members and the FB group. Both get updated on a regular basis.

Q: Can I share my membership with others?
A: Unfortunately, memberships are intended for individual use only. Sharing your membership credentials with others is not permitted under our terms and conditions. However, we do offer gift memberships, which allow you to share the Heiter Society experience with your loved ones.
