High functioning inner child: permission to slow down

Every three months Heiter Society Advocates & Partners get the chance to join a Heiter Coaching session. For the month of September, we have invited therapist and “Inner Child Work” expert Anna Kalbasko to come on and lead a group coaching session.

On the 23rd September at 7.30pm UK | 8.30pm CET | 11.30am PDT, we’re going to meet on zoom. The zoom link will be shared with society advocates and partners via email.

Session description:

We were all children once. Curious. Light. Free.

That part of us does not disappear when we grow up. But under the weight of our environment, of conditional love, of the difficult things that happened to us, we had to adapt. So there would be something to love us for. So we would be noticed. So we would matter and be needed.

We learned to be high functioning. To achieve. To play roles.

But the child inside is still waiting to be met. By someone who will see them, accept them, and say that nothing needs to be done in order to receive love. Waiting for permission to slow down.

And that someone is you.

In this session we learn to make contact with the different parts of our inner child, releasing them layer by layer from adaptive patterns and remembering what it is to be free inside. To be alive. To simply be.

We have learned to cope well. Being alive happens less often.

This is a facilitated space to be with yourself and with others, through the exploration of the inner child.
